Karolos Vlachiotis was born in Ioannina, Greece, and lived there until the age of eighteen. In 2006, he relocated to Athens to pursue studies in Business Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business. Between 2013 and 2015, he resided in the Netherlands, where he completed a Master’s degree in Marketing Management at Tilburg University, before settling permanently in Athens. His engagement with contemporary jewelry began in 2017 through seminars in jewelry making and woodcarving. He trained at ANAMMA – Contemporary Jewelry School, attending courses led by Dimitris Nikolaidis, while simultaneously studying at the Athens Public Institute of Vocational Training in Silversmithing and Goldsmithing, where he obtained certification from EOPPEP as a Handmade Jewelry Technician and Jewelry Designer. He has worked at FANOURAKIS Jewelry, one of Greece’s most distinguished jewelry houses, gaining valuable experience in a workshop that bridges traditional techniques with innovative design. In 2023–2024, he was awarded the Homo Faber Fellowship of the Michelangelo Foundation, a program that enabled him to collaborate closely with Akis Goumas and connect with the international network of makers fostered by the foundation. His work has been presented in group exhibitions of contemporary jewelry in Athens, as well as internationally at London Craft Week 2024. He has also participated in educational and artistic initiatives organized by the Canellopoulos Museum. Currently, he teaches at ANAMMA – Contemporary Jewelry School and the Chalkis Jewellery School - Eric Robbert, where he shares his passion for handmade jewelry and contemporary craft.
